The National Science Foundation (NSF) held a Navigating the New Arctic (NNA) proposal writing workshop on December 9, 2021, hosted virtually by the NNA Community Office. The first hour of the workshop consisted of an overview of the NSF review process and Intellectual Merit and Broader Impacts criteria, as well as most common mistakes made by investigators when submitting a proposal. The second hour was structured around breakout rooms with NSF program officers. These breakout rooms aligned with the three NNA grant types: incubator grants, research grants, and collaboratory grants.
