The NNA-CO and Alaska Pacific University Community Extension Office invited community members to attend a virtual Indigenous Gathering Open House on November 3, 2021, to meet the team, learn about the Extension Office, and provide feedback on how to best serve community needs, priorities, and research interests. Tribal leaders, Indigenous knowledge holders, culture bearers, Elders, students, and community members were encouraged to attend, register in advance through Zoom, and share their input.

The NNA-CO invited NNA Broader Impact Network members to join the September 23 meeting, where participants continued building connections and increasing awareness around culturally sensitive work with Arctic communities. Attendees engaged in networking through breakout rooms, participated in case study discussions guided by an Indigenous community member, and left with resources and strategies to strengthen their own broader impact and outreach plans.
