ASSW 2027 – Reminder to Submit Proposals for Community Meetings and Workshops
The Arctic Science Summit Week (ASSW) 2027 organizers look forward to welcoming the Arctic research community to Hakodate, Hokkaido, Japan, from April 11-20, 2027.
Community meetings and workshops is will primarily take place April 11-15, 2027 with a possibility of additional workshops taking place alongside the 9th International Symposium of Arctic Research (ISAR-9) from April 16-20. Organizers can request in-person, hybrid, or online meeting formats. The deadline to submit is October 16, 2026. For more information and to submit a request, visit the ASSW website.

On Monday, September 14, from 5:30–7:00 PM AKT at Schaible Auditorium at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, the NNA-CO hosted an evening of short films exploring how Arctic and Indigenous communities are experiencing and responding to change. The films shared the voices and stories of people living these changes firsthand. Following the screening, attendees were invited to stay for conversation and reflection.
This event was free and open to the public.
