On Monday, September 14, from 5:30–7:00 PM AKT at Schaible Auditorium at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, the NNA-CO hosted an evening of short films exploring how Arctic and Indigenous communities are experiencing and responding to change. The films shared the voices and stories of people living these changes firsthand. Following the screening, attendees were invited to stay for conversation and reflection.
This event was free and open to the public.

The Navigating the New Arctic Community Office hosted Cana Uluak Itchuaqiyaq who facilitated a 1.5-hour workshop on conducting equitable research when engaging with Arctic communities. This workshop explored supporting long-term community capacities and Tribal sovereignty as part of ethical engagement. Cana also discussed recent fieldwork experiences working with Arctic communities. This event was scheduled for September 14, 2026 | 3pm AKT / 5pm MT / 7pm ET.
